Lake Gaston Flood Operations.....from LGA
As you have probably noticed, due to recent heavy rains and excessive inflows into Kerr Reservoir, the project is now under flood operations, which means that our Lake Gaston maximum water level is now 201 feet instead of the normal 200 feet. Levels this morning were at 200.33 feet. Flood operations are expected to last at least another week. The extra foot could mean that some docks could be under water. You are reminded to check your docks and boat houses to ensure that items either on the dock or on the floor of your boat house shed are moved up higher or removed. Boats should be high in their slings or securely tied down if not in a sling. Canoes, paddle boats, etc. should also be secured if they are on your dock or near the shoreline. For daily information on water levels, visit www.lakegastonassoc.com and click on the water level block on the lower right side of the home page. Al PotterPresident
