The Winery
The 450 acre Rosemont Estate has been in the Rose Family since 1858, with the home place actually dating back to the mid-1700’s. Over generations, farming operations have included vegetable farming, a peach orchard, beef cattle, dairy farming and commodity crops such as hay, tobacco, corn and soybeans. In 2003 we continued the journey as stewards of the land with the planting of 16,000 grape plants, and planting another 16,000 the next year. Construction of Rosemont Winery began in November of 2006, and in September 2007, we produced our first vintage!
At Rosemont Winery you will find a beautiful early American Style building with a state of the art underground wine production facility. Our winery is the perfect location for a relaxing afternoon enjoying Virginia wine or for your own special occasion – private dinners, corporate events, and even weddings. For more information on custom events, please visit our events page.
During your visit to the winery you can taste 14 different wines all grown on our estate and enjoy a tour of our production area and barrel room. We also have a gift room full of wine accessories and crafts from local vendors, as well as an art gallery featuring local artists from the Lake Country area.
Beginning Friday, April 16th, Chef David Rose will be back in the kitchen preparing a special tasting menu for our guests! David will be serving food each Friday, Saturday and Sunday beginning at noon. Feel free to come stay a while and enjoy some award winning wines and delicious food. For parties of 6 or more, please call ahead for reservations.
Please visit Rosemont Winery for the current menu.
